Lithology and Thickness

Shale/slate, dolomite. Contains microbial mat structures (Fig. – image A).

Depositional setting

Muddy tidal flat. Development of shallow water carbonate platform with microbial mats on top of fairly deep-water shale points to upbuilding of the carbonate platform, and shallowing up phase of basin development (Fig. – image A).
